Acquisition (again)...

I have worked here coming to 2 years. I can't believe I will be moving on to another company without me tendering.
In fact, I do not even know whether I will retained in the next company. haha...whenever merger/acquisition happens, there will be many 'overlaps' in positions. I guess my present company have no choice but to 'sell' off.

I have not fully experienced the culture and life of my present company and now, to another. Sincerely, I hope that this will not happen again. This is disastrous. In this current market, for most it is tough to find jobs, let alone fresh grads. I read in the papers that there was a local grad being 'retrenched' even before starting on job. In a way, the grad is going to graduate soon and was offered a job prior to his/her graduation. He received a letter that the offer has been revoked by the company due to the current financial situation. Geez...

I have quite a no. of cols being asked to resigned or even retrenched which I felt sad for them. Some have been here for long whereas some barely wks. I wonder whether companies take advantage of the current situation that retrenchment is a norm as a reason to cut loss. I hope that this will a last resort to take. The affected staff definitely has commitments to fulfill. I understand that in business terms, this may be required at times. Those who are jobless at the moment, this will be a good time to upgrade. Do it when the market is down and you will shine when the market is blooming. :)

Seems like the whole financial market is going haywire....Currencies are going downwards. GBP being the strongest currency, went down as low as 2.2 today. EURO went down again to 1.95. Not mentioning NZD, totally terrible now at 0.78. AUD went down as low as 0.9 last year. The only currencies which I can see moving strong is JPY, Ringgit and USD. Bluechip shares became 'affordable'.

May market turn for the better soon.. got to hit my bed.. had great fun with my cols at KTV earlier on. :)
